Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer to join a cutting‑edge trading firm operating at the intersection of finance and ultra‑low‑latency technology. You’ll play a key role in designing and optimising FPGA-based systems that power high‑frequency trading strategies, working alongside a team of elite engineers, quants, and traders.

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where nanoseconds matter. If you enjoy solving complex performance challenges and pushing hardware to its limits, this is the environment for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimise FPGA-based solutions for low‑latency trading systems
  • Implement high-performance data paths, network interfaces, and market data processing pipelines
  • Work closely with software engineers and quantitative researchers to translate trading strategies into hardware
  • Optimise timing, throughput, and resource utilization across FPGA platforms
  • Participate in architecture decisions and contribute to system‑level design
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues in production environments
  • Stay current with the latest FPGA tools, techniques, and industry trends
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with FPGA development (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog)
  • Proven track record in low‑latency or high‑performance systems
  • Experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus)
  • Solid understanding of digital design, timing analysis, and hardware architecture
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/UDP) and high‑speed interfaces
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools (logic analyzers, simulation frameworks)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience in financial markets or high‑frequency trading
  • Knowledge of C/C++ for performance‑critical systems
  • Experience with PCIe, memory controllers, or high‑speed serial interfaces
  • Exposure to algorithmic trading systems or market data feeds
