Medical Assistant Job Type: Full Time | Job Location: New Hartford, NY | Job Level: Entry Level Job Type: Full Time Job Location: New Hartford, NY Job Level: Entry Level Job Summary The Medical Assistant will support healthcare professionals by performing administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the medical practice. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and performing basic laboratory tests. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and nurses to provide high-quality care to patients. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Knowledge Medical Terminology: Understanding of medical terms and procedures. Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology. Skills Basic Skills Active Listening : Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively. Writing: Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Social Skills Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people. Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Technical Skills Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Primary Job Duties Assist healthcare professionals during patient examinations and procedures. Record patient information and vital signs. Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness. Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records. Perform basic laboratory tests and handle specimens. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare professionals.
